In Science we aim to develop scientific curiosity about our immediate environment and the world around us. We aim for all children who attend the school to have the opportunity to develop their investigative and practical skills by exploring, predicting, experimenting, measuring and evaluating through exacting activities. In key stage 1 and 2 science is taught through scientific topics such as Materials and Change, Animals and their Habitats. We encourage learning through practical activities and a wide range of teaching resources including topic books and ICT. In key stage 3 and 4, Science lessons are delivered in line with the National Science Strategy. All pupils are given the opportunity to access the key stage 3&4 National Curriculum through the use of up to date Science textbooks, CD ROMs and Interactive technology. Whenever possible all pupils are provided with the opportunity to visit local environments, museums and the ecology park to enhance their learning.
