Recycling plant in Silesia Poland

In June four Polish teachers visited us and taught our pupils about their region, Silesia. We were interested to compare ways in which we are all trying to care for the environment. Our pupils learnt that pupils in Strzyżowice collected all their plastic drinks bottles and saw how they were sorted and recycled at this facility. Your World Our World

Following on from the success of 'Friendship Without Borders', we are now embarking upon another EU Comenius project, entitled 'Your World Our World'...

The Big Question……..How does what we do locally to / in our environment affect us all?

So far we have 5 confirmed schools who want to work together: The Chelsea Community Hospital School in London, UK. Strzyzowice Primary School, Poland. The 2nd Special Nursery school of Patras, Greece (together with some of the teachers with the 2nd Special Primary School. Sairaalakoulu Oulu, Oulu Hospital School, Finland and the Parma Hospital School, Italy.

Comenius enables pupils and staff from across Europe to work together on joint projects.Friendship Without Borders our recent Comenius project, linked us with schools from Norway, Lithuania and Holland. We created a project website which documents our work www.friendshipwithoutborders.org

World E-citizens

World E-citizens, Prague Feb 2007
Our Head Teacher Janette Steel and two of our Teaching Assistants / ICT staff, Ben and Fred, recently travelled to Prague as part of our new link with Miranda Net. The conference that they attended was based around the idea of an Etopia. Etopia allows teachers and pupils all over the world to publish their ideas about the world they would like to see take shape. Etopia

5th HOPE Conference, London, 2006

5th HOPE Conference, London, 2006
HOPE is an association of European hospital teachers
Teachers from London Hospital Schools, co-hosted the 5th HOPE conference, held at the Institute of Child Health. Fifty two speakers and over 240 delegates from across Europe and as far afield as the USA, Australia and New Zealand attended. A full programme of events focussed on the "Every Child Matters" agenda and "Innovations in ICT".
