St Marys

St Mary's students had the great opportunity of working with musicians from Wigmoore Hall for a period of 6 weeks. Over this time they composed and recorded these pieces of music. The first 3 tracks slotted in with the school theme of transport and the last 3 with the theme of habitats. Special thanks to Julian Ferraretto for leading the workshops and his amazing editing skills.

Meryem_thumbnailFor fashion week Meryem created a "Flower Power" design. She adapted a white t-shirt using a net curtain and some purple fur and decorated it with a felt flower! Well done Meryem!

Michael (11) has been enjoying learning the guitar. This week he recorded 3 compositions. First a lullaby for 2 guitars, then a live improvisation for 2 guitars and finally he re wrote and sang his version of "Hound Dog"

Copy_of_1Noras_Cookbook_CoverWe have had an industrious half-term in Design and Technology. Primary and Secondary students have come together to design recipes for our Healthy Eating Cookbook with some fantastic and highly delicious results. We are also using our cookbook to show our European Comenius partners in Finland, Poland, Italy and Greece examples of how we in Britain can eat healthily with seasonal produce.

We listened to different versions of "A Groovy Kind Of Love" which is based on a classical composition by Muzio Clementi. Amber and Amina wrote new words and with help from Daoud, Daniel, Fabina, Lenesha and Matilde they created "Chocolate World".

Zi6_99271Children learnt more about healthy eating today. They made a vegetarian couscous after having drawn a picture of what they wanted to put in their mix. They also wrote up their recipe for the forthcoming St Mary's cookery book.  The meal was eaten rather quickly after all that work!

Sams_Bagels_thumbnailSam was given the challenge of designing a dream sandwich, the yummiest one that he could invent and would enjoy eating. He was so hungry that he decided he needed to make two! You can see that Sam thoroughly enjoyed the whole process of preparing and eating his yummy bagels.
