St Marys

An invitation to tea!!!!

Tea_Party_ThumbnailThe classroom was transformed into a setting for a traditional afternoon tea party. The purpose of this was to share this typically english tradition with our friends at a hospital school in Finland. Two days earlier the classroom was transformed into a bakery and the students all worked extremely hard preparing all the delicious food and decorating the crockery and designing and creating the stunning decor. It was a fantastic party!!! Well done everyone!!!

Enchanted Ocean Drums

Drum-ThumbnailWe had fun making enchanted ocean drums using paper plates, acetate, glitter, beads and hundreds and thousands. The pupils designed the centre of their drums with drawings of mythical creatures, princesses and fairies. As you can see our super pupils were really delighted with their drums.

Mars Attacks!!

alien_thumbnailDuring the summer half term holiday, the children participated in an outerspace arts and crafts session. They designed their own unique aliens and then created them using paints, card, pipe cleaners, feathers and glitter!! The art teacher and students also designed a 3D rocket complete with a launcher and flames ready to blast off!!!

Petrouchka

puppet2Aaesha, Leonard, Muzdalife and Pharell worked with musicians Daniel, Jackie and Vicky from Wigmore Hall to create compositions based on Petrouchka by Stravinsky. Using puppets that were made by the group during the morning session they created two pieces to represent Pipe the Clown, Princess Elizabeth ballerina and Pharell's Computer Puppet. Joining this together was Stravinsky's "Danse Russe" music from Petrouchka.
