Students at our CCC school site have been baking the famous French caramelized apple tart yesterday, tricky dessert but when it works it is delicious. And it was! This dessert, invented in France in the late 19th century, is named after the Tatin sisters, who accidentally cooked the tart in the oven the wrong way round. In a rush, they flipped the dessert upside-down onto a plate and served it warm. This dessert quickly became an immediate hit. Accident or Invention?
